Committees

GMCBOR Committees

Leadership strives for brokerage office and geographic diversity in committee appointments. Unless otherwise noted, appointments are for a one year term.

Budget Committee

Description: Determines budget for each year. Makes recommendation to the Board of Directors for final association annual budget.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 2-3 times each year (Jan - Mar)

Grievance Committee

Description: Determines if there is a potential violation of the Code of Ethics.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: Only as needed

Membership Committee

Description: Provides education for new members during orientation throughout the year.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 2-4 times each year

Political Affairs / IAR / RPAC Committee

Description: Plans and executes RPAC events.
Composition: Chairperson and 8-10 members.
Meeting Frequency: Monthly (Jan - Sep)

Technology Committee

Description: Research new technology products and services available to membership. Will work with Core Website Task Force in 2015 to develop new Board website.
Composition: Chairperson and 7-8 members.
Meeting Frequency: 5-7 times each year

Program/Education Committee

Description: Plans monthly membership meeting speakers and programs. Selects continuing education (CE) for REALTORS at NIACC.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 1-2 times per year

Property Committee

Description: Assists in maintenance of Board office and helps gather bids for necessary repairs.
Composition: Chairperson and 2-3 members.
Meeting Frequency: As needed

Awards Committee

Description: Reviews nominations and votes for Local Realtor of the Year recipient.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 2 - 3 times per year (late summer, early fall)

Personnel (Employee) Review Committee

Description: Discuss staff responsibilities, conducts annual reviews of staff.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 3-4 times each year

Mediation Committee

Description: Assists in the mediation between parties of Ethics or Arbitration complaints. May work with professional mediator on retainer, as needed.
Composition: Chairperson and 3-4 members.
Meeting Frequency: As needed

Nominating Committee

Description: Selects candidates to run on the ballot for the October election for the new members of the Board of Directors.
Composition: Chairperson and 4-5 members.
Meeting Frequency: 1-3 times each year (mid to late summer)

Professional Standards Committee

Description: Will meet only when a formal Ethics or Arbitration complaint has been passed along from the Grievance Committee, and when the two parties cannot solve the problem in mediation. A small group of members be selected from the committee to form a jury if an ethics or arbitration case has to be heard.
Composition: Chairperson and 12-15 members.
Meeting Frequency: As needed

MLS Committee

Description: Discuss, research, evaluate and accept/decline requests for additions and modifications to existing MLS systems. Recommends changes to the Board of Directors.
Composition: Chairperson and 9-10 members.
Meeting Frequency: As needed

Holiday Party Committee

Description: Plans annual Christmas party..
Composition: Chairperson and 6-7 members.
Meeting Frequency: 3 - 4 times per year (once in spring, remaining in the fall)

Consumer Outreach Committee

Description: Plans and executes programs to help our community.
Composition: Chairperson and 2-3 members.
Meeting Frequency: As needed
