GMCBOR Featured in National REALTOR® Magazine

Ideas to Help Your Neighbors Through COVID-19 Pandemic

May 5th, 2020
Greater Mason City Board of REALTORS®, a small but mighty local association of REALTORS® was once again featured  in REALTOR® Magazine.  The magazine published by the National Association of REALTORS®, paid tribute to real estate professionals and local associations for their efforts in offering support to their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amber Scholl, GMCBOR Executive Officer, and Jenna Sheriff, 2020 Treasurer - 2020 Core Standards Chair, had the idea to look for ways that local real estate agents could support the community, and boost morale.  They came up with the idea to ask GMCBOR Members to participate in the trending #aworldofhearts project.  This project encourages people from across the nation to decorate windows using a heart theme,  to share photos of hearts found in nature, and offers a great way to promote love and support during times of stay at home orders & social distancing guidelines.

Scholl reported that several real estate offices and local affiliated businesses participated in the project.  A few members even made this a family endeavor by decorating windows in their homes.  Participants were asked to use items they had on hand, rather than purchasing special supplies.  Thankfully, REALTORS® usually have colored paper, scissors, and tape in stock.

"It was wonderful seeing everyone's creativity.  Art has a way of brightening even the darkest days," said Scholl.  "We hope this simple project shows people in our community how much we care, and encourages them to have hope during these uncertain times."
