Vision North Iowa's Strategic Plan:
North Iowa is full of rich assets and distinct opportunities.  The Vision North Iowa partnership set out to create a strategic plan centered around the most promising opportunities for the region, identifying four goals that have the potential to set the stage for success.
1.  Building a Regional Community
2.  People, Place, & Prosperity
3. Innovation & Entrepreneurship
4. Business Development & Marketing

Here are some of the statics shared at the meeting:

"It's great to see our local REALTORS® attend meetings discussing the growth & economic development taking place in our area" stated Amber Scholl, Executive Officer of the Greater Mason City Board of REALTORS®.

"Our economy is strong, and so is our local real estate market."  Scholl reports that Mason City single family home sales rose 5.3% when comparing year-end sales totals 2018 vs 2019 sales reported by the Mason City Multiple Listing Service.  First time home buyers represent a portion of this increase.  People moving into the Mason City area for work need a place to live.  This creates a strong seller's market by allowing current homeowners to receive a healthy return on their investment when selling their homes.

Scholl states "When the economy is strong and the unemployment rate is down, we see an increase in overall home sales.  Perhaps more renters are becoming first time home buyers.  Low interest rates, and the availability of assistance programs for first time home buyers are also likely to be key factors influencing the increase in sales."
