Participating Greater Mason City Board of REALTORS® members held a board sponsored sock donation drive in May & June.
Several local real estate offices participated in a fun Dr. Seuss "Fox in Socks" themed initiative as part of GMCBOR'S ongoing annual community investment program highlighting the National Association of REALTORS® "That's Who We R®" and "REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors" ad campaigns. Members were encouraged to donate socks in various sizes, shapes, styles, and colors to help North Iowans in need.
All told, local REALTOR® members of GMCBOR collected and donated more than over 450 pairs of socks. GMCBOR received an additional 300+ pairs of socks courtesy of Fox River Mills in Osage, bringing the total amount collected to more than 750 new pairs of socks.
Recipients included: Northern Lights Alliance for the Homeless (New Beginnings House of Hope, Northern Lights Men's Shelter, Walter House, Courage Hall), Friends of the Family, Crisis Intervention, Caring Pregnancy Center, Four Oaks, North Iowa Youth Center, the All Vets Center - Mason City Honor Guard, and others not listed.
